This list comes from the brilliant website The British Larder.
I always find their monthly list a great way to remind me of things i haven't eaten or cooked for a while, or just to learn about things I had no idea about.
For instance... Buckler Leaf Sorrel...
Apparently it is another name for French Sorrel. It has green leaves, similar in shape to watercress and tastes of green apples. Young leaves can be used in salads.
I have some Red Veined Sorrel (Rumex Sanguineus) going a bit mad in the garden, so needed some good Sorrel ideas.
I found some great starting points on an interesting old blog called Two Small Farms.
Sorrel and Goat Cheese Quiche,
Cream of Sorrel Soup,
Sorrel Pesto,
Greens and Fish,
Sorrel Omelet,
Gongura Dal
If you have any other nice ways to use Sorrel please let me know. Cheers!
